Re: Pop up window behind the main window

first of all are you using "robust delete" or you just see the normal windows delete window? Err, good point. No guys I simply click on the "X" icon on xplorer2 toolbar (or click the "del" key on the keyboard) and the pop up window saying that it is impossible to delet...

Re: Pop up window behind the main window

When you start to perform a robust delete operation (which is what I *think* you are doing), do you have the check box for B ackground operation checked, by chance? Reason I ask is that I usually run Xplorer² on me 'secondary' display, and the prompts usually pop up on the primary, so I don't have t...

Re: forum relocation

Well, this explains a lot. So, I use Firefox, and with Firefox, I don't just use the native containers feature, but an addon called Multi-Account containers. In a nutshell, it isolates credentials per container so you can log into the same site with different credentials simultaneously (seemingly). ...

Re: Smarter rename

I know it's not AUTOIT or these other sexy things, but VBS is still pretty ubiquitous. As far as I know, most everyone has WSCRIPT on their system. All you need is NOTEPAD to make changes. 2 things. 1) Awesome job, thank you! 2) VBS is by far sexier than having to have yet another executable / runt...

nikos wrote: 2018 Dec 30, 07:59 wrt trimming, xplorer2 rename has the character range construct $[3:2] that specifies a starting position and a length. This can be used either for search and replace or entire name replace, meaning that you can trim both start and end
I did not know this. Thanks, Nikos!

Re: Word 2013 - Keep “Search Documents” from resetting legacy Open dialog to Documents folder

One thing you could do is to follow this article: https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/set-a-default-working-folder-786200a7-f5f2-4d26-a3ae-b78c60dd5d3b It's supposed to work. I just tried it, and after changing the folder using this method, when I created a new doc, and tried to save, it defaul...

Exactly. While I knew less of him than many here, I would spend time, a lot of time, here and there and just read his posts - I loved his strong command of vocabulary a lot.

Re: xplorer2 v4.2 beta

Odd, sorry - I did a preview and they showed perfectly fine. It might be because it's my account, and Google Photos was showing them to me. And I didn't realize that basic functions like file info stored by the file system in WinX still relied on DOS lol. Thanks for the info! (Edited above photo to ...

Re: xplorer2 v4.2 beta

I tried it again on the file right above that and it offset by 1 second. I tried 3 more files above it and each was a second off, even when anticipating my click on the Attributes item on the workbench tab, clicking on Chan g e dates and then hitting the [ENTER] key immediately (as the OK button is ...

Re: xplorer2 v4.2 beta

I just installed the βeta 2, and tried to use the time and date change function. I took a file (archive) which I knew had the incorrect time and date, and then set the Modified time and date to the actual executable file version inside the archive. I then used the function as follows: https://photos...

Re: xplorer2 v4.2 beta

Lol yeah, I figured that part out eventually. I just didn't see it the first (few) times I looked for it.

Plus, I am still stuck on using SHIFT + F12 to chagne the dates, and have had to remind myself more than once to do it the other way....

Re: blog: dark window theme

@Nikos: Have there been any changes to the way that this works from th time the blog was written? Specifically, can you adjust the actual UI elements themselves (slidebars, ribbon bg color, etc) to match the pane colors? Also, does the Windows 10 feature Night light affect this in any way? (I know t...

Re: xplorer2 v4.2 beta

I installed it. I was expecting the time thing to be a part of the 'change attributes' dialog box as well as through the shortcut, so it took me a while to figure out that I needed to enable ribbon and access from a different method.

Once I did, though, it worked perfectly fine.
