Hi again,
I found a way to have the DOS window that launches xplorer self-exit.
Simply create a CMD file ("explorer.cmd") with these contents:
cd /d %~dp0
START Programs\xplorer_portable\xplorer2_UC.exe
Run "explorer.cmd" from the USB stick.
Cheers,
Robert

Autorun tool for removable USB flash drives (2)
I use the solutions I gave because I have tweaked my registry to disallow Autorun completely. Nothing "autoruns" on my system... Note that double-clicking an "Autorun" file does not run it in such a case. It only opens the Autorun file in the default text editor... But I d...

Autorun tool for removable USB flash drives
Hi, I have two solutions for this: 1. Basic solution. Create the simplest of CMD file with these contents: cd /d %~dp0 "Programs\xplorer2 Portable\ xplorer2_UC.exe" Name this CMD file anything that suits you ("xplorer.cmd"), give it a specific icon if you want. Launch this CMD fi...

If you value tab looks more than mini scraps, then you are in the wrong forum ;) Hi, One of my teachers back in the sixties used to say that we were witnessing the triumph of style over substance. I always wonder what he would say of the current area… By the way, I have no trouble identifying the a...

Version 1.7.0.1 Bug report
Hi again! I tried to uninstall version 1.6.5.3 [Unicode] before updating to 1.7.0.1. To no avail. I got the same MS report message. But I think I found out what causes this problem. If I run xplorer2 Pro as "xplorer2_UC.exe", everything works fine. But if I run command-lines like this one ...

Cannot run version.1.7.0.1
Hi, I just tried to run version 1.7.0.1 on XP SP2. I installed over 1.6.5.3. The new version won't run at all. I systematically got a Windows system Exception error message asking me to send a report to MS. Rebooting was no use. I have had to revert to version 1.6.5.3 [Unicode]. I could not get Dr W...

I realized that you are referring to the chevron that WinXP uses to hide rarely used icons. I don't use that. I force all systray icons to be visible at all times. I don't like anything hidden at all. Hi, For reasons that I could never quite fathom out, some of the icons that I want to be always ...

Re: Why does xplorer2 hide itself?
Despite my sureness that I'm not closing the program myself, the program seems to close itself. Or, at least, it "acts" like it closed. There is no taskbar button and no systray icon. There is no sign of it running at all (if I bring up the Task Manager, I can see it listed as running)...

Re: Mouse-wheel scrolling without pane activation
I would love to be able to scroll the inactive pane with the mouse-wheel without having to click on the pane to activate it first. Is there an option for this somewhere in the software? This will be possible if you install "KatMouse" on your system. It is freeware and available from http:...

Control Panel ClearType Tuning shortcut (5)
I'll send the debug message later but here are a few more details: The path for the ClearType Tuner is "C:\WINDOWS\system32\cttune.cpl". If I right-click "cttune.cpl" in that folder, the default command in the context menu is "Open with Control Panel". If I use drag &am...
