If I double-click the border that separates the two file panes it does reposition itself, splitting them evenly (in case that is what you are referring to).

Yeah, it's because TeraCopy clears the files queue from  the clipboard after it has finished the operation. I think it is to prevent copying files accidentally after the initial copy-paste.

This happens with TeraCopy, but it doesn't bother me much.
Though it may be a different copy/move handler.
