does anybody know how many flash pendrives use write wear leveling today no but with their prices being so cheap who cares? Just get a new one for daddy and a lolipop for the kids :) I'm inclined to agree with you, at least when following the general advice that "pendrives are unreliable and s...

I've found that with Windows 7 and 8 you can right-click eject flash drives to safely remove them. I find this more convenient than using the Safely Remove tray icon. Normally I eject flash drives from the x2 drive bar but you can also eject them from the WE navigation pane or from Computer. Oh, th...

Humm, if somebody in the year 2012 says that 512-bit RSA isn't breakable, that person shouldn't be calling himself an RSA expert, and you should stop taking advice from him. And, since you have to upgrade, why move to just 1024-bit? You should've gone 2048-bit - and found some real expert (no, that'...

Please keep in mind that it's not the port numbers that are doing the magic - while it would be pretty stupid, somebody could easily host non-SSL/TLS mail services on those ports. Also keep in mind that both IMAP and POP3 support authentication methods where your password isn't sent in plaintext... ...

kunkel321: considering how the registry and the NTFS filesystem are structured, any gain from "cleaning the registry" and deleting a handful of files an uninstaller have forgotten about is likely to be non-measurable - it's placebo. Defragmenting is another story, though. While there's def...

One could argue that there has been some merit to registry cleaners in the old and dirty past, since prehistoric Windows versions had some registry size limitations. I'd still say it's mostly always been snake oil. though. "Memory optimizers", on the other hand, have always been 100% snake...

my version has been keygenned so i can't say it is working as intended :) i am still trying to figure out if the RSA was broken or my webserver My bet is still on the RSA being broken. You really do want a keysize of at least 2048 bits, and you want to be sure the rsa-keygen discards weak keys (and...

Probably because it works just fine for all the regular users who don't spend a lot of time doing file management?

The basic OS features are designed to cater to the "normal" user base.

yes, I saw it too, this shouldn't have happened according to theory :( I'm a sad panda Don't worry - you're likely still doing enough to keep the honest people honest, and the people who are doing crack (:P) don't mind a patch+keygen combination. But of course it can feel as an attack on personal p...

Dear Nikos,

I just saw that there's a clean keygen (ie, no .exe patching required) out for v2 - which mistake did you make in your implementation? Too small keysize for RSA, bad random generator (or time(null) based seed)?

Are you so much against STL that you're still using new/delete or malloc/free instead of std::vector? Or is it stuff like <algorithm> you aren't using? (That *was* super clunky to use before lambdas).

I personally can't stand dockbars in most applications, doing it this way is a great compromise. Thanks, Nikos!

I bet tuxman is the kind of guy who insists on using KiB, MiB etc. instead of kb and mb. Yes, there's some validity to the arguments, but it's just too much arguing for the sake of arguing. And no, not everybody who pirates would be willing to pay for the software - probably most of them wouldn't. B...
