Re: build 1206 released
My searches aren't that complex, but speed is not an issue for me. I have a fast processor and an SSD drive, so it's good enough. I want to use an AutoHotkey script to generate Detective rules from other data and paste them to DeskRule, and that includes Contents sometimes. Driving the Advanced UI w...

Re: build 1206 released
If it doesn't make searches inefficient when the Contents property is not used, I'd request that it be added to the choices for Detective. I'd prefer to use only Detective and not Advanced, as I plan to create AutoHotkey hotstrings to paste in Detective. I was focused on trying to make some kind of ...

Re: build 1206 released
The special property Contents is available for Advanced search in the Choose property dialog, but not in the same dialog for Desktop detective. Is that an oversight or a limitation?

Re: xplorer2 build 3004
I'd like to make a User command button for an Autohotkey script to process several files found by browsing into a compressed archive. If I recall, 7zNSE does not yet support write operations, but this will be a read/copy process. The problem I have is with parameter tokens. $A works for multiple nor...

Re: deskrule build .44 released
When Deskrule finds files in a compressed archive, F3 on a selected file fails to launch the editor. On normal files outside of archives, it works properly. This is true regardless of the registry setting for szTextViewerPath, empty, editor2 or notepad++. The status bar message is: Cannot access con...

Re: build .40 now with x64
Switched to 64 bit, works fine. "Set default" helps a lot.

Re: deskrule .39 final beta
If you find a file like a .pdf with search by name, the preview shows full "native" pdf. If you search by contents, it shows "draft" text only, with the search hit highlighted. That's great, but there is no way to switch the preview between draft and native like xplorer², after a...

Re: deskrule .39 final beta
Simple doesn't just turn Advanced off, it un-pins it, making a small nuisance in going from Simple to re-pinned Advanced. Going in to and out of Simple Mode also resets Normal Mode to the default search box template, requiring a custom template to be re-selected. Exit and re-run retains the templat...

Re: deskrule .39 final beta
Press F1 for more information on this mode (the manual was largely re-written) It also has some peculiarities as you observe, it only uses windows search, there is no backup with robust search I'm not nagging, but a couple of nits about the manual: The bullet title for Simple Mode says "Plain ...

Re: deskrule .39 final beta
trial period, only with increasing nags simple mode turns off advanced mode, because... it wouldn't be simple :) to avoid nags as i said just leave deskrule running Nags increasing immediately to 100% Simple doesn't just turn Advanced off, it un-pins it, making a small nuisance in going from ...

Re: deskrule .39 final beta
the free trial procedure is itself being tested, that's why I turned it on... I decided to go with unlimited trial period, only with increasing nags... I didn't see any nags for the first half hour or so . Now I get it every time :( Also, if it's not there every time, shouldn't there be a menu item...

Re: deskrule .39 final beta
If Advanced Search is pinned, turning Simple Mode on/off unpins it. Advanced Search remains pinned through program exit/re-run.
Is the transition to robust search automatic now, rather than the prompt at the end of the file list?

Re: deskrule .34 now with fast indexed search
open a scrap then in deskrule use CTRL+A to select everything and then drag-drop Sure, my macro does exactly that, but just one click. I was sort of suggesting it as a built in feature for deskrule. After all, how many of (both of) us are using deskrule, but not xplorer2  How about the missing...

Re: deskrule .34 now with fast indexed search
I give a d@mn. I use it once or twice a day. I watched the overview demo, but on version 36, I don't see a dropdown arrow on the help icon that might let me watch the other demos. I also don't have the magnifying glass icon that the overview shows for fast and simple search. I have an Autohotkey mac...

Re: xplorer2 t-shirt
the only thing I wear is t-shirts Doesn't that freeze your reproductional apparatus? OK, shorts and sandals for the lower parts. The temperature for the weekend is predicted to be between 96F and 100F. Nothing will be freezing. My reproductional apparatus would probably feel better if pants were no...
