52 page document crashes Microsoft Word 2002 when scrolling?
I have a 52 page RTF document that contains a two column table that now crashes Word 2002 (Word XP) if I scroll down towards the bottom of it by dragging the scrollbar thumb. I can move through the document with page down and bookmarks, but dragging the scrollbar thumb causes Word to tell me it need...

Are people still looking for 2xExplorer?
The latest version of 2xExplorer is nearly six years old. Is it still necessary for: I am looking for 2xExplorer Please follow this link for the old website. Have you tried the free* version of xplorer² ? It is much more powerful than 2xExplorer! to take up space on your front page? I know I can jus...

I don't understand forbidden characters in file names.
I understand what (* . " / \ [ ] : ; | = ,) they are, I just don't understand why. I would think there is a container for the file name in the system and it should be able to hold just about anything I can type. I know \ are part of paths, but why should it matter? Is the path and file name r...

Next time let Lifehacker.com know, maybe they would post.
The website Lifehacker.com likes xplorer2, and I try to mention it in the discussions for various utilities they recommend, where applicable. I noticed the sale late in the afternoon by RSS and emailed the editor, but I think it was too late for them to do anything. I sometimes see "This day on...

I'm just trying to save a step
I don't use this feature very often, so I'll remember it exists, go look for it in the menus, and then have a slight moment of frustration when I see it grayed out and can't figure out why it wouldn't be unavailable, and then remember I have to go up one level first. If I Select All and then flatten...

Feature Request: Flatten the folder I am currently viewing
Its seems to me that every time I realize I want to flatten a folder, it is is the one I'm currently viewing. I then have to navigate up one level first, then flatten it. I wish that the Browse flat command wasn't grayed out if I don't have anything selected. I also notice a slightly odd behavior th...

I think you need to read this:
http://www.zabkat.com/blog/11Jan09-default-folder-association.htm At the bottom is says: "I don't like xplorer² opening folders like that. If you change your mind and wish to have windows explorer back, the simplest solution is to uninstall xplorer² then reinstall it without ticking the folder ...

So version 1.7.2.3 doesn't really upgrade anything?
As far as I can tell from reading the changelog afterwards, version 1.7.2.3 doesn't include any changes to the program itself, just a reg file UndoFolderAssociation.REG file. Wasn't clicking the install program a waste of time? I think you could have just said that a reg file was available as a sepa...

You Can't
I have never been able to figure out how to get x2 to trim file names. To me this is a major shortcoming in the renaming function(the rest of the program is wonderful). Your best bet is to uses another program to do it. I use the free: Rename Master http://www.joejoesoft.com/cms/showpage.php?cid=108...

I like the looks xplorer² well enough.
xplorer² looks OK now, it's kind of neutral and utilitarian. I do at times think the toolbar buttons are a bit small, but then wonder if I would want to sacrifice having less of them just to make them bigger.
I use Windows XP. I don't know how xplorer² looks on Vista.
