If the user has changed his mind, he has to simply press ESC before releasing the mouse. The drag-n-drop is canceled. LOL, I might as well click &q...

Dual pane default folder...

Please add an option to set the dual pane default/start folder. [The folder that shows up in the new pane when dual pane view is activated.]  Thanks.

Annoying: "same destination" prompt for drag-and-d

Also, the dual pane feature is very good for drag and dropping.  Not much of a chance to make a mistake there.

[...]So precise users can make use of the improved efficiency, and clumsier users can keep safe.   I have yet to meet one person alive that didn't inadvertently drag some folder into a location he/she didn't intend to. That was my whole point in stating that using d&d for file operations ...

BTW: What is the advantage of having the settings saved to the registry?  Wouldn't it be easier for users to have the settings saved to an .ini file or something?

We should have the balance between "fast" and "risk". Too fast becomes too risky !!! Think about if there is no comfirmation of deleting a file(s).... It is really fast but I definitly don't want it... And also, most of the mouse click (or short cut key) action must follow the w...

So the desktop.ini file saves seperate info in the same file for both programs?

Yeah it's a struggle, especially in todays times of the digital camera and online imagery.  An efficient thumbnail caching system will help immensely.

Then will xplorer2 find it's own way of caching thumbnail files?  This would save a lot of processing time for folders that contain large numbers of thumbnailed image files.

nikos wrote:individual (customized) folder settings are stored in each folder separately
they are not part of the program settings as such
Is Windows Explorer able to recognize these folder settings files and use them?  Or are they xplorer2 files types only?

if not then x2 can't help you!
Well, Windows Explorer doesn't display these icons.   Don't know why they can't be removed from view in xplorer2.  :?
