Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I'm using detail view for all my work

Feature request: Allow F2 to highlight the ENTIRE filename.
When you select a file and hit F2, only the base filename (NOT including the extension) is selected. I realize this is supposed to be a productivity enhancement, but it is actually very unbeneficial to me since I find myself wanting to copy entire filenames (including extension) all the time. I wo...

Thanks for the info, Narayan, however, I'm not trying to compose a DOS/Windows command. I simply want to copy the active pane's address to paste it into an email to send to someone. I do this a lot to point people to paths on the network. That's all. I used Servant Salamander in the past and it h...

Is there a shortcut key to copy address in Address Bar?
Is there a shortcut key to copy address in Address Bar?
I've looked at the manual in the section "Using Address Bar" but couldn't find anything.
I realize I can do Ctrl+Tab or Shift+Tab, then Ctrl+C, but that is a lot of keys to be typing very often.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Daniel

Same thing happens to me, except that I don't have to shut down X2 to experience this. I've tried hitting Esc. to no avail. As we speak, I'm waiting for X2 to unfreeze after the network drive it was accessing went down. ...ok...just came back. The network drive must have come back online. All in all...

Thank you for the explanations. I ran some tests and achieved my aim. In a nutshell I wanted to copy the following files: \\server0\Projects\App\latest\CN\cn_setup.mdb \\server0\Projects\App\latest\DE\de_setup.mdb \\server0\Projects\App\latest\EN\en_setup.mdb \\server0\Projects\App\latest\JA\ja_setu...

Question about pasting "Structured scrap clips"...
For some reason, my "Paste special" | "Structured scrap clips" does not create subfolders for the file I am pasting. Instead, I just get the standalone file. The excerpt from the manual describes what I am trying to do: "[PRO] When you copy items from scrap containers and th...

Usability suggestion...
Any particular reason for the non-standard placement of the menus in xplorer2? To quote from the xplorer2 website: "xplorer² is a file and information manager that adheres to the philosophy "efficiency through simplicity". Without reinventing the wheel, it integrates the best features...

Suggestion: Add a hyperlink to the Tip of the Day...
I love the daily Tip of the Day dialog. It would be nice if it included a "Learn more..." hyperlink pointing to the relevant section in the Quick Start, the user manual, or the website.

Suggestion: Remove File-->Exit from scrap container...
Would it be possible to remove the Exit menu item from the scrap container's File menu? We've all experienced the frustration...you attempt to close your scrap container by speedily flying through keyboard combinations: Alt+F, Up Arrow, <ENTER>. Then, ouch. What you wanted to happen was for the scra...

Hi Gruch, Just want to say thank you for contributing to making xplorer2 even better. If developers take your comments to heart, you may actually bring about concrete changes in future versions. I second many of your comments, but particularly the User Guide one. Do you know how hard it is to find a...

Thank you so much for the explanation Narayan. This approach will definitely have its use in other areas of my work. For my current purposes, though, fgagnon is correct in saying that simply searching for the explicit filenames is the sure way to go. Constructing the list is easy, adding files is ea...
