Nikos, I was browsing a folder with a lot of (fairly large) pictures last week and found that X² is allocating a large amount of memory. This happens while using the preview (Ctrl+Q) for the pictures in draft mode (don't know if using 'normal' makes any difference) The memory consumption was so high...

ok, that's what I thought you meant, but that doesn't add up.

I did:
- a search in text with the 'Case sensitive' checkbox unchecked
- save settings now
- open search dialog again
- click the 'Clear' button

result: checkbox is checked again
