i risk sounding stupid here but i note that you did say :
whether on osx or windows clone of the mac osx doc
i don't suppose this means you have x2 running on osx via some emulator type thing? that would be unbelievably good!

in fact i have just had an idea that makes the portability even more simple to implement if you save your serial in the above way into a reg file (add it to your x2settings.reg file - you may as well), you can then create a simple batch script to run in place of double-clicking the xplorer2 executab...

i think nikos' suggestion about junctions could be your answer! it may not be immediately clear, but the creation of junctions is a brilliant feature. it can help in this case : - decide which folders you would like out of all your filesystem - create a new folder where you will store this list... -...

i think i can see both sides here and there might be a wee misunderstanding the only difference between pro and lite is the need for the serial to be entered for license security, this must therefore be what schottbert is talking about... perhaps he also ran x2 lite from usb without using his own se...

sorry to drag up this old post but i didn't want to start a new one on an existing topic... i have just installed version 1.6, and upon moving a file from one local folder to another (same partition) i get this 'non-robust' warning. so i immediately fired up 1.5.1 and attempted the same move... ther...

about scraps, you know that you can set them to any view mode, including details, right? yeah i have scraps in detailed view all the time - the way forward! i am thinking about someone using x2 for the first time with all the defaults. imagine the user goes to search for a lost file. when it pops u...

see nToolFont100 in registry.txt for a way to enlarge/shrink it i appreciate the default text labels can of course be changed (or removed) - my real point is all about the default setting! maybe it would look better (and waste less space) with smaller font size - but this needs to be by default! ma...

i would like to add my two pennies to this... with a slightly different angle i quite often recommend x2 to friends, but i have to confess i actually feel ashamed of the default appearance so i often urge them to apply a .reg file upon installation to change them, in order to make a better first imp...

just to add to the confusion...   :) for example check the system menu in window corners when you look in the "system menu in window corners" you do see 'close' as the default action & when you double-click that same icon in the top-left corner, hey presto - the window closes... but wh...

I could merrily write code that just makes the assumption that the first address I hit for that person is the correct address; why bother checking the foreign key to ensure I'm looking at the correct address?  Oh, wait, I have the wrong address for a few people?   That's the database designer's fau...

but how would this "use by date" work for the scenarios i mentioned? as in repeated reinstallations on test machines/ re-imaging, etc...?

otherwise the "enterprise-wide license for all offices" is distinctly unlikely :(
