Re: Request that file paths be visible internally
I'd like a way for an external program to look at an Xplorer2 window and discover what file paths are actually active in the panes of the window. Note that the window title does not give the needed information: it reveals a current drive plus directory name, but not the full path from the root to...

I use snakebyte's Menu++ for this now but I find that many of the commands I need use user command tokens and the workaround to do this with Menu++ is limited to 20 or so commands. Hi FrizzleFry, the limitation of 20 commands is not there anymore. X2 build 1.7.2.0 introduced a new registry option n...

Tiku, I agree that not all Windows APIs and features are documented well. I was in particular replying to following statement made by Nikos i share timo's feelings about the quality of documentation for new features. New Win7 shell features like jump lists, aero peek/preview, libraries have been wel...

Re: blog: xplorer2 for windows 7
I have around 20,000+ files in one of my W7 library pulled from multiple hard drives and network locations. Without tree folders and correct drag and drop support libraries are totally unusable for me in this build of X2. I hate to switch to windows explorer just to use libraries. There are two ki...

I do not see how this is half-hearted implementation. Libraries are virtual entities therefore they require special handling unlike file system folders. Libraries behave consistently across windows. In file open/save dialog, they behave just like windows explorer. I have been reading MS Win7 blogs, ...

so what do libraries have that scrap window collections don't? 1) Libraries are exposed at OS level. I can save or access files from any application with open/save dialog to libraries . Scrap is limited to X2. 2) Scrap is flat view of data, where as libraries are hierarchical in nature. If I add t...
