i closed x2 when it was maximized and clicking on the window close button.

so are you saying the .exe staying open is normal and is a result of me selecting it to replace windows explorer?

instead of rebooting, could i have just ended the .exe and then imported?

actually to come to think of it, i think x2 did require me to start it right away after installation.  so it may indeed by the hanging .exe  i closed x2 when it was maximized and clicking on the window close button.

i might have found the possible cause--not sure.  during my uninstalls of xplorer2, i kept getting a warning about its .exe is still running even though i exit xplorer2 already.  so i have to manually end process the .exe through task manager before i can uninstall.  could the .exe not closing prope...

No plan, no x64 or W7 here, but an idea: Do this: Reboot the machine Do not open x2! import the reg-file Confirm the import with the reg editor Still: do not open x2! Reboot the machine Re-check the registry with reg editor, that the imported settings are in place Now start x2 What happens? amazing...

let me put it this way: there currently are like 2 types of status bars.  1 on the top on each pane, and 1 on the bottom that has no pane.  what im suggesting is add the info from the bottom status bar to the top status bar so that theyre always displayed in the relevant pane.  ive seen my suggested...

i dont think power users will be doing as much file management on low end netbooks and small screens.  x2 is supposed to be aimed at power users

btw: this may not seem like a big deal.  but for maximized x2 window and a modern 24" 1920x1200 screen size, it causes the eyes to move too much.  having the info under both panes is more ergonomic and intuitive.
