yes it is a serious problem since if you don't have admin rights on a remote PC you can't see C$ but the new x2 robs you off the right to see the legitimately shared folders. I'm working on a patch as we speak

just use the Clone+browse command (File menu) or the Window menu. Each opens a separate frame though

but with the new xplorer2 you can have as many windows open as you wish without putting much burden to your system's resources

it would seem that windows realize that the previously publicly shared folders are just subfolders of the C/D/E and doesn't deem necessary to list them separately i'll have to look into it BTW, if you login without admin rights you should be able to see the old shares and not the C$ etc, is that so?

playing devil's advocate, there are many things you can do in x2 with zipfolders that you can't using a native zip app like winrar

for instance you can compare zip contents with external files, see thumbnails, etc plus all the usual stuff like copying names, previewing text...
