Need for Portable Version Upgrade

Nikos, Well, I've finally gotten employed by someone who will not give me either admin or superuser account!  OUCH!  At least they're using XP and not VIS(HI)TA (apologies to anyone offended by my corruption of M$'s new OS name -- weeks of trying to get girlfriends new Gateway dual core laptop with ...

Most Useful Features

Nikos, I'm not a power user like many of the people in forums, but here are my most used / useful features that make x2 the only program that starts up every time my computer is turned on.  These are not in order, just listed as I thought about them: 1. Dual panes with multiple tabs - I multi-task a...

ZipGenius - Free ZIP Tool

I use ZIP Genius http://www.zipgenius.it/eng/index.php to support various compression formats.  The only other compression utility I use is WinRAR, and that is specifically for .rar format files. Besides, Zip Genius is FREE!!!  Also integrates seemlessly with xplorer2 - otherwise it would be "O...

BRX beat me to the final detail that for me is the best part of the program ... the very open, responsive support of Nikos and the community, e.g. Fgagnon, Wasker, narayan, snakebyte, and a host of other dedicated, helpful users.  I have little tolerance for buggy software, which is why I don't writ...

Toolbar and OTHER - Searchbox

Please, please add the searchbox like fuxs described above!  I'm always pressing Alt-H and Ctrl-J to get into and out of the visual filter.

(However, the other suggestions are good, too <snicker>)

I was in the process of creating the CMD file with the "echo attrib..." commands.  I'd selected all the files in my flattened My Documents that were older than 4/9/06, and tried to create the .CMD file from that list.  After at least 8 hours running overnight on a 2GHz laptop with power sa...

Oh, I thought it was a bug that all the icons were disabled (gray-ed out) and just lucked onto the d-click "work around".

So add my vote to ADD SOME COLOR!

Nikos, Can you suggest how to prevent the token substitutions from changing file and folder names when generating command scripts (ctrl-B)? That "feeture" limits the usefulness as I use "$" often to promote files to the top of the sorted by name list. On the other part of my orig...

  LOLROTF!     I KNEW X2 could do that!  I just couldn't remember where (my age is showing -- I've heard memory is the 2nd thing to go ...).  Kept trying to use Properties dialog, but, of course, Archive isn't available there. Thank you again Nikos! PJ in (a day without a hurricane is ......

Command Script Token Substitution

[edited - small correction to the command. Added the quotes around $F. pj] Help!  My token substitution has run amok! Seriously, I'm trying to run a command (attrib "$F" -a) on a set of files in a scrap pane.  This is fine unless a file or folder name contains a "$" character fol...

Thanks for the very quick response!

That corrected the problem.  I didn't expect MS Word and PDF files to fall into the "binary" category.  (That's what I get for thinking <sigh>).

Thanks again!!!
