Re: About comments...
English is my primary language and Kilmatead's prose never gave me headaches. It gives me hope, liberty, and wisdom that many times I can never fully comprehend. Even though this forum is not my home but coming here and listening to an "old wise man"'s eloquent proses and references remind...

Re: beta build 2408
Basically it does not matter if it's an explorer replacement or not. Even if xplorer2 (or any other explorer replacement) is the best in the world, there are times you will just have to use Explorer for something. It's like, you can use a computer a type all you want and talk about how great compute...

Re: Year End wish: Being able to define a viewer per file ex
This is a very useful feature actually nikos.
It will also be extremely useful for the Ultimate version if you decide to use your own software on your USB drive to view files instead of the host computer.

Re: Pic display too slow
I like xplorer2 GUI. I am registered to this forum only to say this. :baaa: I like software that supports 16x16 icons toolbar. Hmm... that's not too bad at all... Just to let you know XY supports it too. But that color theme is kind of nice. I think I should set up my xp2 similar to that. Anyways.....

Re: Pic display too slow
I'm glad that you agree that scripting for file managers is an awesome thing! But yes haha GUI design for xplorer2 does need some work. On the other hand, I actually like it since it reminds me of my fun days on Windows 98... ok I don't know if that's a good thing or not but the sense of nostalgia i...

Re: Pic display too slow
However, XYplorer does what you expect it to so there's no issue with that. If it does what you need, why complain about the programming language On the other hand, everything you said is very much true. I always wonder if Don ever regrets for trusting Microsoft with VB6 considering how Microsoft pr...

Re: Pic display too slow
Also, lots of people in the web claim that "X2 is for nerds/geeks", whilst technically lesser competitors like XY have immediate appeal to them, bec/of their more accessible and visually pleasant approach to "laymen's everyday uses", and this takes business away from X2. For an ...

Re: xp2KeyCrypt 1.4 Final - August 12, 2013
Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in. Bugger - I didn't read the last source accurately enough - if I had, I would have discouraged you from this: There is a very good reason this is an extremely bad idea - as the x2 binary comes in two formats it is recommended that the portable-u...

Re: xp2KeyCrypt 1.3 Final (Unicode) - August 5, 2013
But considering that EndCleanup() is nothing more than a removal of the 7za.exe, it looks rather like the Wipe() is executed regardless of a successful integrity check or not. I haven't intentionally created a fail-state to check it yet (in case PB is sneakier than I thought), but it doesn't look r...

Re: xp2KeyCrypt 1.3 Final (Unicode) - August 5, 2013
So you mean that if xplorer2_UC runs from C:\Users\ and another version run afterwards from I:\Users\, according to the system, both were run from C:\Users\? So basically what I'm trying to do will be useless? In the absence of a specific /P switch, that's exactly what I'm saying. (Never mind that ...

Re: xp2KeyCrypt 1.3 Final (Unicode) - August 5, 2013
Keep in mind that x2 will by default run as a shared-process unless the user specifically launches via the /P argument. That means that if no /P is designated then no matter where x2 is launched from (even a physically separate path) its aegis will automatically be subsumed by the existing process ...

Re: xp2KeyCrypt 1.3 Final (Unicode) - August 5, 2013
OOoh I found something! Remember when you said about finding the Windows class and using the FindWindow but the issue is with the documentation? I found some examples and it's simply: FindWindow_("ATL:ExplorerFrame",0) So the 0 tells it to go through all process and look for any window wit...

Re: xp2KeyCrypt 1.3 Final (Unicode) - August 5, 2013
Regarding xp2KeyCrypt, I'd say a little extra applied logic at startup wouldn't hurt either - only ask for LIC if LIC does not actually currently exist - one of the most common things when programmes are slow to start is for people to just keep clicking the launcher ("a watched kettle never bo...
