paste uses the same setting for overwrite confirmation as the Copy To (F5) command. If you have cleared the confirmation check box in the dialog box that appears with F5, then paste won't ask for confirmation either

[Ctrl+R] doesn't work in the tree (it does for the new xplorer2). Instead you must forcibly collapse and re-expand the tree branch you want refreshed -- or the whole tree if you collapse the root (desktop) node

as i mention in the website, xplorer2 is not a viable alternative to 2xExplorer yet. But it is under development, so watch this space, for column selection and beyond!

if you can't get it back via resizing (enlarging) the window, try the [Ctrl+E] shortcut from View menu. If that doesn't fix it (I can't see why not) then take a look at FAQ #11 which describes how to get rid of a similar problem
