As I recall, the hold auto-refresh feature was added to address the need for renaming files in oft-updated folders & was set up as if this would be a special case -- hence the current behaviour to cancel the hold when moving elsewhere. But, now that x2 has this very good (& necessary) featur...

I guess many of us are not up with the times, or prefer the keyboard so much we never looked twice at the new rodents. :o
Looks like the kb equiv of Ctrl-z & Ctrl-y (undo/redo).
Is there a 6th button to mimic F4 (repeat last operation)? :)

What's the reason to not put this by default? While x2 loooks and feels like a great fully functional released product on many fronts, please keep in mind that it is REALLY still only an alpha version. And you can see that the UI development is somewhat lagging, and likewise selection of us...

it works, (thanks nikos)
but 'how to' explantion could be clearer for those not familiar with bit-wise option keys (even though you try to explain it in alpha.txt):
i.e.: "add 32 to the value of binMiscOptions keys for each window where you want the click/rename feature"

I thought the 'debate' was over & generally no big deal. up/dn arrow usage on date column(s) is noted as inconsistent with de-facto convention; but conforming to convention for convention's sake is low priority given that functionality is present. :) (and, yes, you point out an obvious ambiguity...

Yes, I see it too. Nikos, It looks like something you did to fix one issue (so d-click would only invoke open/execute & not rename-in-place) has defeated the slow d-click (i.e. select, then click-to-rename) functionality for renaming. Yes, we can rename two other ways: 1. r-click/pick rename fro...

Let's not get too judgemental. Questioning a questioner can still be a valid question -- especially when done for clarification. And we ALL have communication problems, writing as we do from our own experience base/point of view. The marvel to me is that we don't have more clashes when sore points a...

2 Editor² feature requests

Nikos, I have come to really like Editor² and it is fast becoming my preferred text editor. It is a wonderful combination of most things I like in a text editor. However, two of the features which I use regularly in my favorite text editor that I would like to see included in Editor² are: 1. the abi...

It sounds like we are all trying to say the same thing: "Because of low usage, the indicator should be clear."
And that's why I suggested plain English in the stautus bar (no need to remember what a particular check-mark, or blinking activity signifies).

Re: x2 great big lag when browsing media files

mrbo wrote:I think the problem might be the loading of preview info, and since I dont use it, im wondering if theres a way of turning it off.
In case your statement meant "The preview pane is ON, but I don't want to use it.", You can turn it OFF with "ctrl+Q"

I doubt usage would be quite that rare.
[More like OFF 98% of the time for 95% of users ==> 99.9% OFF]
Which, for me, actually makes it quite worthwhile.

As for how to notify ...
I would suggest "plain English" in the status bar.
e.g.: " (Auto-Refresh is OFF) -- Ready "

The reason re-installing didn't work is that the problematic registry entries were not cleared / reset. The most straight forward way to get back to square one is the (draconian) measure of deleting all 2x registry keys and then restarting 2x. see: http://forum.zabkat.com/viewtopic.php?t=1051 for de...

You found the right registry key to tweak [nMaxFileSizeThumb].
Set value to zero for no size constraints.
Be sure to exit x2 before you edit registry, and restart x2 after quitting REGEDIT. :)
