Try these sites. they hold a lot of Windows type information, it's worth a try. I managed to fix a similar problem where an un-install screwed my system to such an extent that I could't open the recycle bin from the dekstop, do a search, open my computer from the desktop. and various other problems....

Could he be describing the fact that the tree does not follow the active pane. If I change folders within a pane, the tree will remain on its last active drive. Nikos, I have tried what narayan has quoted and hovered a file over the a:\ drive and got x2 to freeze. Here is the debug report. You can also try ExamDiff. It is freeware s/w that can check files for differences. The Pro version can check folders also, but you have to pay for that one.
