On Vista Ultimate 32 bit - I checked an executable, a .ZIP file and a .jpg image - all three context menus were identical. NOTE:  Added the following:  I should also mention that I used Windows Explorer and Xplorer2 and tried the same 3 files in both - IOW, I checked the same executable in both, the...

I think this is a good idea - that way those who want it can have it and those of us who clamored to *not* have it can not have it.

A win win situation for all....

You can: 1)  Use the run command to run it (most likely, though, you'll need to give the full path to xplorer2_uc.exe) 2)  Find the shortcut (either on your desktop / start menu) and edit it to add the switches after the path to the program (not if the shortcut has quotation marks surrounding it, ad...

Not saying that this is *fact* but thinking theoretically, it should be no more resource intensive than the default file associations used by Windows to display particular icons for particular files, such as the notepad icon for .txt files, etc. Of course, since this is in X2 I *may* be wrong, but m...

Actually, it will probably happen again, (The next time you install X2) and I don't think it was the compatibility nag.  Here is my reasoning. When you run the installer (and in fact most installers) in Vista, you are automatically prompted for credentials to elevate the privilege level for the inst...

True - but if you used general environment variables where applicable would it make it more portable?

Hmmm - then it must be simply the enumeration of the folder contents itself that causes the slight delay I have when viewing these 2 folders (or, in my case, when I first start X2, as both are already on the tab list).

@pj - Thank you, Mr. Valentine! I have to agree with the regarding of robust into something better - call it Smart, intelligent, whatever - and highlight that fact that you can *pause* copy / move operations on the fly....a big help for Vista users who are having issues with such operations renderin...

Just outta curiosity, what do I do with the file - just extract it to the default X2 dirs?  will it work with the Betas?  Did you write the skin from scratch? I know, lotsa questions - but I want to quickly get on board and get a nice skin going based upon the crystal icon set....they have always be...

Using that method, you could create a permanent copy of that shortcut and place it with the reg file in a location that will not get over written when performing OS reinstalls / upgrades / HD formats / etc., and it should "theoretically'" work - as long as the full path to the xplorer2.exe...

Ahhh, the item icons setting - never fooled with that before - nice to know though, if I want to go no frills (or in very very large image folders) I can set that. Hmmm - Hey, Nikos - can that setting be set on a per folder basis?  I have 2 extremely large folders, Downloads and Pictures , and not h...
