Sync Wizard not finding identical files
I ran Sync Wizard to find identical files by size (the one called Size [S]) and it didn't find any even though the files in the two panes were identical apart from one set had been renamed. You could see in the columns that the sizes were identical down to the byte. Screenshot shows the settings. Th...

Re: Pane colors - active vs inactive
this column coloring is caused by "Hilight primary sort column" option (see TOOLS > OPTIONS menu, WINDOW page) Thanks. It's definitely that and not the other thing. Part of the confusion is due to some of my folders having saved settings while others don't. Also I don't know if this is po...

Pane colors - active vs inactive
Can anyone explain these colors for the panes, i.e. why do the left and right panes have different color schemes: Right pane active: white Left pane active: white except for the Name column which is light gray. Right pane inactive: darker gray Left pane inactive: darker gray except for the Name colu...

Photo thumbnails won't load / must re-load every time
This is two separate issues 1) - Often photo thumbnails simply do not display. Within a given folder sometimes 1/4 or 1/2 or 3/4 of the thumbnails display and the others don't. These are photos taken at the same time with the same camera and were never altered. Sometimes if you go to another folder ...

Re: Open search result folders in X2 and not IE
it means when in your find results you select a word document you want that opened in word, not in xplorer2 I think your post must have been meant for some other forum thread. This thread has nothing to do with Word docs. No one mentioned Word. This thread is about folders that show up in search re...

I don't understand any of these sentences:
nikos wrote:enter key "opens" stuff.
nikos wrote: xplorer2 only opens folders, sometimes.
nikos wrote: To get the enter key to work just make xplorer2 default for folders

Open search result folders in X2 and not IE
Do a search > scrap pane opens with the results > 'Enter' on a folder in the results > the folder opens in IE. How do I make it so these folders (i.e. in search results) will always open in Xplorer2 using the Enter key ? For that matter, how would that not be the default? I am failing in my attempts...

Folders are opening in Windows Explorer instead of xplorer2
Folders are opening with Windows Explorer instead of xplorer2, in this situation: 1. In xplorer2 do a search 2. In the search results scrap pane, highlight a folder and open it with the Enter key. 3. The folder opens in a new Windows Explorer window, which I don't want. I want it in xplorer2. also -...

Browse multiple non-nested folders flat, simultaneously
Is there any way to do this:
1. Run a search for some keyword. In the results scrap pane, various folders show up.
2. Select a few folders, which are not nested (not parent or child of one another)
3. Browse those selected folders flat

Re: Auto-horizontal-scroll in tree pane?
all the other guys actually wanted autoscroll, you seem to want the opposite It sounds like you never read the original question. It says: I want autoscroll. Period. I'm not sure how "I want autoscroll" got interpreted as "I don't want autoscroll". anyway I cannot rewrite the wa...

Re: Unsorted / drag-and-drop thumbnail arrangement
OK, all very helpful, thanks.
BTW I was told somewhere else that Windows Explorer in XP can do it, which is 1) interesting, if it's true 2) a moot point since I don't have XP and 3) not surprising that Microsoft would remove a feature like that.

Unsorted / drag-and-drop thumbnail arrangement
I thought xplorer2 let you arrange photo thumbnails to your liking by choosing View > Arrange By > Unsorted and then dragging them. But it's not working right now: when I drag a thumbnail I get the error message "Move file - source and destination file names are the same". Was I mistaken? ...

Re: Auto-horizontal-scroll in tree pane?
who uses the tree anyway? waste of space :P I do. It serves two purposes for me: 1. It's a nice picture of where I am in the folder structure. It helps keep me from getting disoriented. 2. The main reason--it's a great drop target. I have to deal with a lot of folders on a big network structure, an...

Re: Auto-horizontal-scroll in tree pane?
perhaps you've used TOOLS > ADVANCED OPTIONS menu command to "disable some vista effects"? What windows are you using? I am not using 'disable some vista effects'. Win 7 Pro 64 bit. Is there anything else in either xplorer2 or Win 7 that could be disabling the auto-scroll? In general I tu...
