Re: v3 reliability
Fwiw, no html viewing problems here with xplorer2 3.0.0.0 under Win 7. I made a test folder with just under 200 .html files in it, thumbs and mini-thumbs views worked as expected.

Re: Can't permanant delete by Shift + click Delete button
Yeah, you can't Shift+click from the toolbar to permanently delete. This is a bug that's been around for years. (Search the forums if you want the backstory.) What you need to do is Shift+double-click the delete icon on the toolbar to permanently delete files. Or, you can add the "Trash" i...

Re: the time is nigh... v3 BETA
The keyboard shortcuts all seem to be working as intended now. I'd still like to see all letter/letter combos for the keytips rather than letter/number combos, but you have greatly reduced the number of letter/number keytips. Also, there are a lot of lowercase keytips scattered about. For example, o...

Re: alpha version 250.15
Here's another: Ribbon> Home> Find. Using the mouse, one can select either the regular search or the quick search. Using the keyboard, one can select only the quick search.

Re: alpha version 250.15
Ribbon shortcuts: on the View tab, f is assigned to Hide folders, F1 to Filter and F2 to Folder groups. There's no way to access F1 and F2, as pressing f hides folders and you're done. Should be something like F1 for Filter, F2 for Hide folders and F3 for Folder Groups. Or, better yet, FI for Filter...

Ah, okay, got it, thanks!nikos wrote:scraps also have the ribbon (a different one), see VIEW menu
I think the Mirror browsing command should be in the ribbon. Also as an option in the quick access toolbar.

Re: alpha version 250.15
The ribbon shortcuts are better now, but there are still a lot of letter/number combos. I really think it's worth the time to convert them all to letter combos (as Microsoft does). The stretch from the home row of the keyboard to the numbers row is the largest on the keyboard, and having so many let...

Re: alpha version 250.14
Why is the Home group alt/H1 and not alt/H, if you're going to use MS 'inspired' group names why not use the their shortcuts. Yeah, big +1 on this. What's up with the keyboard shortcuts? F, H1, V and W. It's not like there's another H that can be typed, why make the user type a 1 as well? And what'...

Re: alpha version 250.13
Okay, the shortcut business sorted kenny out. I've been putting the mass renamer through its paces, and it's working a treat! Thanks for adding the search & multi-replace mode, it makes the renamer a complete tool. I'll certainly be switching from my third-party renamer in favor of yours once we...

Re: alpha version 250.11
Okay, I see, it is working as intended, one replace per pass. File cleanup (removing or replacing dots, underscores, etc.) is a common renaming task, would you consider adding this capability to the renamer? Then we could switch from our third-party renamers in favor of x2's.

Re: alpha version 250.11
I started off testing the mass renamer by trying to replace all instances of a period (".") with a space (" "). So, the file "foo.bar.baz.biz.txt" should be renamed "foo bar baz biz.txt". Alas, the mass rename regards the second period (rather than the last pe...

Re: xplorer2 t-shirt
I'd be interested in an x2 shirt. As long as it's not too expensive. Green and yellow on gray sounds reasonably tasteful, though I'd prefer green and orange on gray.

Re: blog: moon rolling eyes
Also, don't fall into the trap of thinking that Western-traditions are "all there is" when it comes to arts, morality, and politics... it's merely one cul-de-sac, not the whole street. True this! Most non-Western cultures don't even see a man when they look at the moon, they see a hare or...

Re: Move user 'editable' files from install to appdata
Thanks FrizzleFry and Kilmatead; I'll try unchecking the Modern checkbox during the next upgrade and see what happens. With a backup in place, it's no worries, anyway. I suppose I might have done this before, but to me unchecking the Modern checkbox seems like I'm asking for the default skin; wherea...
