Heads up for W7->W10 & X2 Details Pane
If you have customised the X2 Details pane to display uncommon columns then when you migrate from W7 to W10 you may find that your customisations may have gone up in smoke  It would seem that someone changed the column numbers you need use in x2details.htm. You probably have Kiimatead's Column...

Re: Oddity - Pin to Taskbar AWOL
It would appear (from this ) that starting in Win8 they introduced a Group-Policy which specifically governs whether or not pinning was allowed for the user, and thus whether it appeared in the menu or not. Perhaps some aspect of the shell is not polling or exposing that particular GP clearly enoug...

Re: xplorer2 v3.1 released
...reminds me of Australia's immediate past PM. Wasn't that one female? Or did I skip one, so I'm thinking "immediate past-past PM"... ugh, international politics is fatiguing. RIP Jonah Lomu... sports is so much more simple... and yes, I know he's NZ, but from 15,574 km away you're all o...

Re: Oddity - Pin to Taskbar AWOL
FWIW this doesn't work in the "old" windows 10 either. I don't know why  also it doesn't appear in system file open/save dialogs either so it's not just a x2 thing Shift/right click (menu key) doesn't show it. I discovered it when I was wrestling with Win10's start menu, I installe...

Re: Oddity - Pin to Taskbar AWOL
xplorer² works fine on x64 system after Windows 10 1511 Update. "Pin (xplorer²) to Taskbar" is available in Windows Explorer, but not in xplorer² itself (context menu). I posted this thread as a 'heads up ' for nikos - to check his latest release. Even I wouldn't expect him to fix the pre...

Oddity - Pin to Taskbar AWOL
Windows 10 - v 1511 build 10586.3 xlplorer² - 2.5.0.4 [Unicode] x64 2014/06/21 I'm not seeing Pin to Start in X2 context menu for unpinned items, but I do see Unpin from Start for items already pinned. I see PIn and Unpin in File Explorer. I'm almost certain that this is a result of the recent Win 1...

Re: xplorer2 3.1 (beta) - does not save everything!
Works for me in version 2.5.0.4. When you hit Ctrl/P in X2 you should see a message in the status bar to the effect that ' The columns for the selected items have been copied to the clipboard '. If you don't display status bar (see View>Toolbars) you wont see anything anywhere. I use it quite often,...

Re: Calculate Subfolder Size not working
I find the item count (Content) adequate for day-to-day use. When I do want to know the size of directory it's usually one that has many sub directories. Today I use FileMenuTools' (FMT) Folder size option, it's the only one I know of that offers the option to exclude hard link duplicates - that mak...

Re: Syncing folders that have renamed files and subfolders
Just want to make sure - when you say "syncing detects reordering but it creates duplicates... they blindly copy differences" - that the BAD thing that we don't want - right? At least, it sounds like what I definitely do not want. I was little confused by your wording. @ richardk - There ...

Re: blog: who needs antivirus?
  I used Comodo for a while in the noughties, on XP. My memory is that its footprint was huuuge, it frequently BSOD'd, it demanded a lot of care and attention. And I was forever installing new versions which would break things that worked last week. When it comes to testing nikos i...

Re: Syncing folders that have renamed files and subfolders
... That's what I think these programs resolve rearrangements. They just blindly copy differences am I mistaken? I suspect you are - mistaken. GoodSynch does not create duplicates of any files on the several computers on which I run it - Windows, Linux, OS/X and Android. It will if asked, retain pr...

Re: blog: who needs antivirus?
Kilmatead - I can't recall the last time I got a notify from MWB when web browsing, long time ago. Your mileage probably varies due to the back alleys in which you lurk or maybe its a hemispherical effect. I do get a few from my bit torrent client. MWB Pro does things that I find useful, maybe othe...
