"Unauthorized file encryption"?
Nikos and All: I use x2 at work, have for years and years. This morning, as I was selecting multiple files on a network folder and dragging them to another network folder, x2 vanished--mid-drag--and a pop-up message from Trend Micro appeared saying the x2 exe file (latest version, Ultimate 64) has b...

Dogs don't mind it one bit. If they could read our facial expressions and speak they'd say, "What? Why not?" And we're all dogs. Arf arf.Kilmatead wrote:Proverbs {26:11} wrote:Sicut canis, qui revertitur ad vomitum suum, sic imprudens, qui iterat stultitiam suam.

Re: 7zNSE beta 1006
Risking a ban or a scolding. . . . In my youthful years on the playground my friends and I talked about a "rim job " as a thing you would tell only your enemies to go do to each other. And in my slightly older youthful years I worked on a construction site for a Hungarian man who, though h...

Re: 7zNSE beta 1006
I hadn't heard it called a "sting" before, but I like it. I always called it a "rim shot" (because it involves hitting the metal rim of the snare at the same time as the drum head).

A card-carrying member! I am impressed. DREAD: Detroit Rockers Engaged in the Abolition of Disco. You are a Renaissance man, K. WRIF is still going strong. I listen when I can--when the wife and kids aren't in the car. It's unfortunate, the members of DREAD were not successful. Disco--its present-da...

Re: FolderSize problem
So I've given up on "save settings on exit" and set a folder in each pane as the default. All seems to be fine. And if at the end of the day I want to keep my current configuration of folders in each pane, I'll just click "save settings now." Seems like the mature thing to do. An...

Re: FolderSize problem
Essentially yes, but bear in mind that one drawback of this paradigm is that since you use "Save Settings on Exit" if you change your columns in a way you expect to be "temporary", you can accidentally find those settings then applying to all folders (permanent until you change ...

Re: FolderSize problem
First of all, single-pane mode? Who could live like that?
Now then, yeah, I seem to be stuck defining each folder. Who can live like that? So what should I do? Clear each folder I've set, then go back to one, set it, and make it the default?

Re: FolderSize problem
Thanks. That works (mostly; see below). I blame the ribbon for obscuring Actions -> Folder Settings -> Save. I have a lot of network drives and folders and I've found that if a network folder has more restrictive rights (e.g., I don't have write rights there), x2 can't write to desktop.ini and the F...

FolderSize problem
Hi Folks: I just got a new laptop with 64-bit Windows 7. I'm reinstalling my stuff, setting it up the way I need it. 64-bit x2 ultimate works great, as expected, except for the FolderSize columns. I installed the 64-bit version of FS, the columns show up in the Available Columns dialogue, but if I s...

Re: Retaining a tab's folder history
This brings up something I hadn't thought of before, and it's what jayterry is getting at, I think. Since the folder history is maintained (in the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ZabaraKatranemia Plc\xplorer2_UC\MainFrame Settings\Folder History), would it be possible to make it available fro...

Re: ribbon head count
I voted Yes. I hide the ribbon but use it when I need what's in there (not often). It's a novelty in x2--I think that's why I have it available. Also, I paid for the the Ultimate upgrade this time--the first time I paid in a long time. Maybe I'm trying to get my money's worth. :D (Just joking. x2 is...
