Re: Auto-horizontal-scroll in tree pane?

who uses the tree anyway? waste of space :P I do. It serves two purposes for me: 1. It's a nice picture of where I am in the folder structure. It helps keep me from getting disoriented. 2. The main reason--it's a great drop target. I have to deal with a lot of folders on a big network structure, an...

Re: good renamer

I remember some folks were very eager to see x2 get a robust mass-renaming capability--and I didn't (and don't) understand it. Not that I don't require such a thing, I do--I really like ReNamer ( http://www.den4b.com/?x=products&product=renamer )--I just don't see why x2 should bloat up to incor...

Re: Group of color code

Fabulous. That'll be good to know if I ever go insane with color coding.

Just imagine: Kilmatead writing the x2 manual . . . the result would make "Infinite Jest" look like a pamphlet.

Re: Group of color code

Hey that's pretty cool K. I wish I had a reason to use this marvelous tool. But my single set is all I need. I'm wondering, however, for those who will use it, does this thing take into account rule order? My set has to be arranged just so or it doesn't work--for example, the rule for PDFs...

Re: Disable multi selection

It sounds like you turned on "sticky selection": Mark | Sticky selection, or Alt-S. A very handy feature--if you need it.

Kilmatead, you are a man of the world! I hope you came for the Dream Cruise and not the drugs. In any case, a belated welcome to you. (And yes, I do remember.) . . . Thankfully, x2 does not trigger/use those god-awful, evil, pathetic, and misguided work-around popup windows that your man seems to th...

Folder Size 2.6 and x2

Has anyone with Windows 7 or 8 tried the latest version of Folder Size with x2? I installed it on my home laptop, which runs XP, and it works fine. I'm a bit reluctant to put it on my work laptop with Win 7. I'm hoping there's someone here braver than I am.

I was playing around with the Attributes column, [S] vs. otherwise, and I noticed this odd thing. I have Infobars set up under my two panes with these columns: Type [S], Attributes, Selection information [S], Infotip [S]. The weird thing is, Infotip works only on my hard drive--it goes blank when lo...

I remember this thread. :D

After all this time--and after finding and using Directory Monitor--I've come to side with Nikos: this isn't a necessary feature for x2. It would represent bloat in a file manager.

Whenever I need it, Directory Monitor works well.

Nikos: Sorry for not speaking up sooner: I have the folder tree on (always) and x2 often closes with a crash for me (since before the latest version too). I start x2 when I log in and it's on all day until quitting time. When I close it, I often have to click on the "Don't Send" button of ...

. . . now Nikos is going to think you're an alter-ego of mine. :) I suppose there's no way to prove here that I have independent existence and am not a projection of Kilmatead's imagination. Of course, if I keep writing like this and derail this thread even more, some will get suspicious. . . . I i...

You may install them wherever you wish (common practice would be to backup the appropriate ZabaraKatranemia Plc reg key, just in case, as the betas will use your current settings and modify them if necessary). . . . Uninstalling the beta is harmless enough, though remember that the option to remove...

Interested, of course. But I was too busy last week with critical files to feel comfortable playing with a beta. By the way, I'd like to know how other folks deal with x2 betas. Do you install them in the default beta folder? What then with the official release? Do you uninstall the beta? I suppose ...
