kike_ast, have you looked into having different shortcuts w/ predefined folders for both panes? I realize it's not as instant as your suggestion would be, but there it is.

Which features specifically V_C?

It looks as if x2 has got all those features especially w/ the dirkey2 plugin running, except the integrated web search function which is unnecessary especially since you're a MyIE2 user.

MKairys, the size of the files may be a factor though.

For the record, my Logitech Trackman has the back/forward buttons and they function well in 2x, but I'm still figuring out how they work in x2.

Are you using the proper plugin version for xplorer²? There are two versions and putting both of them in the plugins folder will allow dirkey2 to select the proper plugin for the operating system.

It works well for me.

Scot_Free, xplorer² alpha doesn't handle folders w/ a large amount of files, but it is not supposed to. The alphas are debug builds and include certain checks that slow down file listing when dealing w/ an abundance of files. nikos did release a preview of a build w/o the debug checks and the speed ...

ARGH! I'm never, ever, EVER touching litestep again... not without a barge-pole anyway... That thing is wayyy to complicated... i couldn't even set it to run one plugin... I have not been using litestep for a while since win9x, but was similarly dissuaded by the step.rc configuration's seeming comp...

Which version do you have? I'm using .47 alpha of xplorer² and it's there for me. However, I recall the option being there for a while now.

Litestep has several plugins which allow folder contents to be displayed on the desktop a la Explorer's Desktop interface. I use blackbox for windows and I happily use x2 (keyboard shortcut Win+X) and access the desktop (Ctrl+Backspace). I haven't used geoshell in a while, but blackbox allows for me...

On the menu: Actions>Save Settings

If you leave that checked, then you'll get what you want zipit. It'll always remember where you were last though (the last "instance" of x2).

Sorry, I didn't make myself clearer. I don't think it is possible using 2x, but it is possible using x2 (as in xplorer²) alpha ver .42.

[x2] scrap frame filtering from the "address" bar?

I haven't used the scrap frame very often, but have found it extremely useful as of late. I'm using .42 alpha and was wondering if file filtering is available in the scrap frame. I am probably wrong, but I vaguely recall being able to filter files from the "address" bar in earlier alpha ve...
