Re: #manatwork
And also, there are times that even having a removable SDCard won't help, depending upon what your actual purpose is wrt data mgmt on your device. For example, this little tidbit I wrote 10 years ago: https://androidforums.com/threads/alternate-way-to-back-your-apps-to-your-computer.51037/ Unless yo...

Re: #manatwork
frankly the quickest way to deal with files on your phone is to remove the SD card storage off it (if any) and insert it in your computer's card reader. 100 times faster to move files around! That's all well and good - If you have one. I've done this numerous times in the past. My Pixel 4 XL, for e...

Re: #manatwork
You the man (at work!) Seriously, though, nifty. my current phone and computer can transfer files much more quickly than the Beast that was replaced, but it was still so ... blah ... doing it in X². Nice to know that it is going to change, I suppose I'll need to buy another ultimate license for my l...

Re: #manatwork
Jumping in on the file system discussion (as I do not see it as an argument, per se ) (yet): I do know that when connecting my phone (Pixel 4 XL running Android 11 latest patched) to my computer (new AMD Ryzen 9 3950X-based machine - I can go into full hardware details if need be but that is pretty ...

Thanks!

Re: open external viewer with/in symbol bar ?
Do you mean that Windows can only one the same type of file with a single program (what I think you're saying), or that you can only open any one file in one app only? Because I just right clicked on a PDF and I have options to open in in every browser I Have installed Firefox Firefox Nightly Chrome...

Merry Christmas 2020!
Having made it though 2020 relatively unscathed, yet knowing that billions around the globe are having tough times, I'm just here to spread some holiday cheer.
I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas! Stay safe!

RFF: Advanced options setting for minimum column width
Hi, Nikos, I just cleanly installed Windows 10 on my new rig that I built 6 months ago, and I have a RFF, if it is possible to do: I always find that the columns (other than Name) sometimes get out of size depending upon the data being displayed in them, like a column that is sized to X width needs ...

Re: blog: stuck between a rock and a hard place
Agreed. Or perhaps even a new sub-forum since it has devolved into yet another political bashing session. @Nikos - you didn't start the political bashing, and for that I thank you - but idiots in America will always make it political. And yes, I was born and bred and still live in the US, thanks. I ...

Re: volume ID instead of a drive letter in xplorer²
Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but my question is along the same lines as what the OP asked. I'm going to be imaging my machine and converting it to a hypervisor, running my Windows install inside there as a VM, and the drive letters will obviously change. I was hoping to open actual drives in ...

Re: Alternative printer toner cartidge makers
1) Don't buy from auction sites, and *particularly* if they are coming from China (not a racist comment, just extolling my experiences with cheap toner that I've tried in a variety of Brother printers - I own a 5250DN, and a new MFC-l3770cdw, and have owned others in the past). 2) Do your research -...
