Yes, I would like that. This is useful in making a group of pdf files too, where several keywords are present in their titles but in different order. Some considerations: 1. Some files may contain lesser number of keywords, but still x2 should be able to identify them as a possible match. (Provide a...

The following is not easy to set up, but easy to keep using afterward. ReNamer allows you to create your custom-made stack of rules. You can use the same rule multiple times also. Finally save the entire stack as a preset. Renamer automatically assigns a shortcut to it (starting CTRL+1). You can rel...

I am not clear about the question: Normally the find-relacement is done in text. Here we are doing it in names. But for a moment imagine that the Folder/Scrap pane is in List mode, and we are looking at page of text (which contains one file name per line). Now if we use RegEx to "find" all...

RegEx has an expression. Let the user decide whether to include extension. (ReNamer has a "include extension" checkbox for ALL rules).

BASIC renaming, you say?

That's already there, isn't it?
Select multiple files, press F2 and use tokens. (Ref: p162 of UM)

Well, the regex user is supposed to know what he is up to. Show all results in the preview, so that the user is not forced to see only the first two samples and decide. With regex, you never know- some of the results may not be as expected! This is particularly important because some people are used...

I too am speechless.
A more plausible cause is one of those buxom ladies on swings hit Nikos.

Just in case this phase is going to last, yes, I'd very much like "find-and-replace" to be there in x2.

Also RegEx (now that CTRL+F can use RegEx in names, why not?)

Hi Disc Golfer, Welcome to the forum! x2 is full of features, many of which may be hidden to you unless you read the User Manual (press F1 in x2). You can also integrate a powerful mass renamer called ReNamer. Refer to chapter 8 of the User Manual for details. In short, 1. Install ReNamer in a folde...

It must be a sunny day in Ireland!   No the problem is not with auto-trimming; although I don't like OS doing something that the user does not intend/anticipate. In this case, I actually wanted to remove the leading space, and nothing else. But x2 does not let me do that. Further, the error...

BUG: file rename has "same source-destination names&quo

I tried to rename a file that has a space in the beginning. x2 gives this error: ----------------------------------------------------------- Rename file ----------------------------------------------------------- The source and destination file names are the same.  <File details>                    ...

That's nice!

Can you also add the ~ (near)? Google actually looks for synonyms, but here we can go for fuzzy logic.

I think that would indeed remove any possible confusion in the user's mind. (he cannot possibly switch his mind instantly between the two modes)... But what if the user may wish to find ALL words, but not in the exact sequence (he may not be certain of that)?? You can use extended Google logic: put ...
