Re: xplorer2 v4.0 released
I, for example, want to create a macro to toggle "calculate folder sizes automatically" I can't tell if the macros will toggle the checkbox automatically. I also can't tell how to reach a setting on a particular tab in a dialog box. this checks the box but I have not figured out how to ge...

Re: xplorer2 v4.0 released
I wish to repeat that you really need to set up a subforum just for macros where people can share what they've come up with and help each other with them. I have a feeling this might turn into a thriving subtopic. I, for example, want to create a macro to toggle "calculate folder sizes automati...

Re: Wildcard for single digit in Mass Rename
Thank you. After a careful reading of the documentation, I figured out that since the names were all the same except for one digit in the same spot, that I could do what I wanted with Match and replace and a range token, leaving the replace field blank. It just would have been a lot easier with a fe...

Wildcard for single digit in Mass Rename
I don't know what I'm missing but I thought the wildcard for a single digit is "?". I'm using Match and replace part to find "8(a space)(single digit)" and replace it with just "8" to get rid of the space followed by a single digit. I've tried "8 ?" in What to...

Re: Context manu copy path name
I cannot tell you the number of times I've looked for "Copy path" then had to try and remember it's called "Copy name" by xplorer2. I wish it would get changed because name just means the file name to me.

Re: Change Windows 10 User Name
I tried that and the explanations were too involved and involved registry editing and it seemed to me the consequences and possibility of screwing up a brand new computer barely a few days old were just too scary for me. After getting a new computer hooked up and turning it on for the first time, it...

Re: version 4 spotted in the horizon!
Yes it shows to the new search. It just seems to be invisible to the rest of the new W10 Start Menu and I can't pin it to the right side of the menu as one of those tiles. The installer did created a x2 desktop shortcut. It's not a (big) problem to me, but it does make me wonder if other people have...

Re: version 4 spotted in the horizon!
Thank you, that's fantastic exciting news. Now I have to ask will we be able to assign buttons and keyboard shortcuts to commands, macros, whatever they are called? I fixed my Menuhack problem. I found I hadn't copied over the Menuhack.exe when I backed up. I would also mention that for some reason ...

Re: version 4 spotted in the horizon!
I just (yesterday) got a new computer with Windows 10. The re installation in re-importation of my settings went fine, but I notice Menuhack buttons I created don't work. I was wondering if the new "macro support" makes working on Menu hack unnecessary. After spending several minutes reatt...

Change Windows 10 User Name
I just (yesterday) got a new computer with Windows 10. During all the flurry of welcome screens to fill out it asked me to create a user name. I gave it a two word name I now think is too long, and I didn't realize it was going to show up in the path of nearly every program I use. I concerned about ...

Re: beta 340.11
Did I see it correctly in the discussion somewhere that the next version will support thumbnails with more file details? I like to use x2 to organize my photos. I can use other programs when I need to edit them.
I was all set to install the latest beta till I saw it was Ultimate only.

Re: build 3404 released
I first sent you a list of suggestions ten years ago, and I would like to repeat what I said then, that I am an interface usability freak. I hope I won’t make you regret asking. I went through the past ten years of suggestions that I’ve sent you and I was delighted to see several of them were implem...

Re: build 3404 released
I've been intrigued since I read in post where you mentioned you were adding macros to version 4, if you have a road map somewhere telling what you hope to add to x2 in the future. I'm just excited to know there will be a version 4 some day.

Android 6 Marshmallow going to wipe my drive clean
I am new to the world of Android after buying a tablet in January and I just got an update notice for the operating system that worries me. Basically it says that when I upgrade to Android 6 Marshmallow it "the update will delete all user data …" and it looks to me like it wipes my entire ...

Show image thumbnails in groups by date
I have a folder that contains a bunch of images created on different dates. I was hoping to display them as thumbnails in groups defined by creation date but I can't for the life of me figure out how. I can only get View > Arrange by > Show in groups to group them in large vaguely defined date group...
