the only "special" characters understood by the editor are tabs and linefeeds. In the near future I'll add the ability to search for a generic character by code i.e. $13$10 (\r\n) can be used to search for the end of line

the easiest thing to do is open a scrap frame, then right-drag the folder you want in there, picking the flatten path menu item when you drop unfortunately, if it is dates that you are after, the $F script "trick" i mentioned won't be too helpful. In a future build there will be a command ...

yes, that's a problem with the present x2, I'll deal with it shortly
in the meantime you can use the command line to create folders by typing in the addressbar something like:

$ mkdir "new folder"

this is a "feature" of the present version most of the folders in the windows directory that have the system attribute set are "weird" so they are not considered part of the filesystem by x2, that's why the create file/folder commands are disabled i'll have to think of something ...
