our secret filming crew managed to come up with a scoop preview of what seems to be an early alpha version of the next generation 2x

the picture quality is crude but it clearly demonstrates the newly-found capability of column processing

What would be on my wish list would be a column showing the "path" with the results of a Find file search!

a column showing the "path" with the results of a Find file search
BTW, i just realized that senjor "rgd" most probably isn't aware that he can see details like path in the find results window right now in the current R7xx version; just right-click in that window and you'll find loads of goodies, including details and even printing

You've seen the snapshots (gone pear-shaped already) now try the real thing:

xplorer² alpha

Let me reiterate that this is not a replacement for 2xExplorer, not at this stage at least. Only experienced testers need apply.

Any non-UI feedback will be appreciated

I just got back here last night and dl'd the alpha...pretty neat, Nikos :) Nothing went wrong :)

The tooltips are working great!  :yum:

very little of the new features could get in the old carcass of 2xExplorer

The new generation xplorer² has months (if not years) development ahead till it reaches a usability level comparable to the present 2xExplorer

I suppose that at some stage I'll try to transfer some stuff onto 2x so as to keep you all keen :)
(you'll be glad to hear that infotips are one of those things that can be ported)
