copy internet image, paste in x2 / explorer = file creation

Post by profess »

Hi all,

Thanks for any help you can give.

If you use IE you're able to right-click on an image, choose copy, go to X2 / explorer and choose paste.  A file is created, saved etc...

I use Opera web browser.  If I try the above it does not work.

I know I can choose Save image (which works mostly) or Save to download folder (which creates a file photo.php with sites like facebook) for the image in question.  I know I can do this manually (copy, image app, paste, save).  I know there are firefox extensions that can save facebook albums also, but I came across this and was stumped.

Does anyone know of a way to do this using Opera?  If the image is copied, can an application (irfanview? plugin or natively) do a command to save the image from the clipboard to explorer in the active directory.  Any X2 user commands etc?

Any help appreciated...  What does IE do differently when it copies an image?

Regards to all and thanks in advance,

Osei

Perhaps it is because I am using Windows 7, but I cannot right click an image, choose copy and then use paste in either Explorer or X^2 to save the file.  This is regardless of IE, Fx, Opera, Chrome....

What OS and browser versions are you using?
