i was never a fan of either gmail or google docs. Why trust somebody with all your personal details and communications? Do you know what they will do with them behind your back? eg:

Apparently Brazil are a quarrelsome lot.

If you're not a fan of gmail, why does netez.admin-at-gmail.com always visit me in the morning like some unfortunate bowel disturbance?

And Google Docs (the Great Satan of Cloud Computing) does now offer free file hosting up to 1GB per account, no longer limited to document-types.

Let's see, number of gmail accounts * 1GB * 13-year-old porn-loving pirate-party x2-crack-traffickers == a hell of a lot of free file-sharing.

 Google is your friend.

@ why does netez ... gmail.com visit me ... ? -

1.  The off-site board admin has no such antipathy towards gmail and found it convenient to use.
and
2.  You must be in a such long-time chronically bored state to have elected to be notified of board activity by email rather than visiting us on a schedule that doesn't interfere with your (alleged) productivity. ;)

Not antipathy on my end (I have a gmail address as well, though it's only used as a secondary account).

Just that 'netez' rhymes with 'sneeze', so I always want to say "Gesundheit!" to the email notification.

Maybe I'll just give it a new contact name like "Clive's Colourful House of Condoms" or "King Tut's Wah-Wah Hut" just to confuse my spam filter, for a friendlier tint of Glaswegian nomenclature...

Nobody ever replies to emails I send, so it makes me feel not so alone in the world.

Besides, I never make any claims to productivity as I think most of human endeavour is a motley self-induced delusion.

Except chocolate chip cookies.
And Teddy Bears.
And a decent cup of tea.

Those things are real.  The rest is awash in a new century of culturally reiterative dross.

Is it just me, or is it really weird that Google actually pay people to create these silly design pages just to mess with my brain?

That said, I did enjoy the Pac-Man one they made.  Replete with Insert Coin.  Would that I had all those coins back again that the twelve-year-old in me wasted so many years ago. Image

Google is never a choice. (Neither is Apple. For anything.)
GMail is only a web mailer, too. No real alternative to my beloved Thunderbird. Well, anyone with only 1 mail address might consider to use it. For me, it is simply useless.
