Go to File by typing its name

Post by thg »

With NC it was possible to go to a file bye typing its name,
e.g. if I type "2" the focus is set to the first file beginning
with "2"; afterwards I type "x" then the focus is set to the
first file beginning with "2x" and so on.

2xExplorer does this sometimes for two letters, sometimes
not (why only sometimes?).

Is there a way to get this behavior with 2xExplorer?

this works just like you describe in 2X!!

The only thing is: there is a time limit

If you take too long to type the next character of the word you're trying to type, it forgets the previous entries and starts over again. If you type them quick enough, it should work (I believe the timeout is a second)

Also Check this out: if you type the letters using SHIFT, it searches for the first file extensions with the characters you type!! Very useful!!
Dumb questions are the ones that are never asked :turn:
