Using XP, but I _hate_ ZipFolders. I have thousands of .zip files and I use them to HIDE files that I don't need often. With ZipFolders, file searches (by name) take 20 imes as long. I don't know how to turn this feature OFF if XP.
I guess my question has two parts:
1) Can these be turned off in XP (regardless of using 2xExplorer or not)?
2) If the answer to #1 is no: If I use 2xExplorer in place of Windows Explorer (which I am hesitant to do since I like having numerous different folders open at once, in different sizes/views/positions on the desktop), can I turn ZipFolders off for 2xExplorer?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Can these be turned off in XP?
yes, see FAQ # 25
however, 2x at present does not get into these for searching files by name, so if you do a search within 2x it should be as fast as always
