I use WinRAR as my Zip program.
When I click on a zip file in 2X it opens the items in a column within 2X.
I actually have the WinXP Zip functionality turned off in my system.
Is there a way to disable that feature in 2X so WinRAR opens when I click a zip file?
No offense I get messed sometimes up by the items opening in the 2X column.
I’ll click an item and it tells me I need to extract all the items first.
I’m just familiar with WinRAR, I’ve been using it for years.
Thanks, Wade

i also prefer winrar; which other zipper can save alternate file streams? ask the winzip development team and they wouldn't even know what that alternate stream term was all about
anyway, what you want is described in FAQ# 25. You'll have to unregister zipfldr.dll and probably restart your machine (is it XP?)
if you still get zipfolders opened in 2x after all that, let me know

Personally I like the zip folder function. And hope this work for rar too. In fact I just tried EF commander, another file explorer, which can do so!
Of course for all other aspects, it cannot compare to 2xexplorer. I just hope you can try make this rar folder function work for 2xexplorer too. ^_^

although i personally prefer winrar too, it's really up to them winrar developers to integrate their format with shell -- so you can drop it at their mailbag as a request
although i doubt they'd want to do that since then nobody would need to buy their software anymore -- unless they sell the DLL that integrates RAR like zipfolders do
