I keep getting: "Item launched in background"

Hi all,

For some reason when I click on a file (in this case, an .xls file), I either get:
- Excel 2000 appearing in the foreground BUT in non-active mode
- Excel starting in the background, and my 2xExplorer status bar reading "Item launched in the background".

Any idea how I can change this? I.e., when I click on my .xls sheet, I would like Excel to open in the foreground, as the ACTIVE WINDOW. Couldn't find any option in View-->Options...

2x always says "launched in the background"
this is to reassure you that although nothing seems to happen, the requested program has been started and will soon appear

office programs like excel are weird
the first time you start them from 2x they come to the front as expected but for every additional document, they stay in the background. I don't know why this happens or how to fix it, sorry
