Bug and blue screen

Post by CVT »

I found a bug in 2xExplorer that was severe enough to give a blue screen and forcedly have the computer rebooted.

This was what I have done:
1) Put in a CD
2) Open a folder in the CD
3) keep the folder there on the screen and have the CD removed
4) Keep the screen still - and put in a new CD
5) press backspace

And the programme will get stuck and give the computer blue screen and the computer will be rebooted. At least that's what happened under Windows 2000.

that's what i call CD blues :)
was it a deep subfolder or just one level down from root?
i would understand a failure to read but the BSOD seems a bit far-fetched. Does this happen every time?

please give the new xplorer2 a try to see if it gets better

The last time I had the problem was when I was two or three folders deep.

I gave it a few tries again, and nothing much happened except an alarm sign telling you to insert a CD. Maybe it was something else that induced the problem?

if it isn't 100% reproducible i wouldn't worry about it
it could be anything from the phases of the moon down to your computer's "menstrual" cycle :)
