after ,34 in w98 x2 ignores selected sorting order

On my w98se, all versions after ,34 to ,40 are completely ignoring saved selection of the sort order.

I can select it in the x2, but as soon as I close and restart it, sort order is again on the name (and I use type).

At my w2k computer it does not have this problem.

No matter how I close it, with or withoout saving configuration, it is the same.

As soon as I do install it, it reverts to the sort by name.
