Editor² configuration - save as .txt automatically

Post by zumpf1 »

I use Editor² (2.6.0.6 Ansi) to read and write textfiles (what I like best is the prog shutting down on ESC). So I always use the File\Save As - option. I would like editor² to automatically add the extension ".txt" to my given filename. How can I make editor² do that and save my time?
BTW: I do not understand the difference between unicode and other modes (I think Ansi) it seems to work fine so far.
I use XP and German letters (including ä,ö, ü,ß)

the short answer is that it isn't possible unless you type your extension
personally i don't mind working with extension-less files :)

unicode files are saved in a different format, e.g. checkout the files saved by regedit

Never noticed this "feature".

Probably because I tend to create the textfiles I'm editing with editor2 *before* with a quick F7 in x2 (might edit the name too then) and open it then with F4.

Maybe that's a workaround for you, too.
