editor mixes fonts

Post by pila »

I tried v2 and latest 2,5, smae thing in my w2k:

I open plain txt file and some parts are in fixed font and some parts are in proportional.

it seems that if I select proprotional it shows all lines proportional, but when I have fixed, it mixes them

v2.5 works fine in my Win2k/NT4 machines.

Even if I try to change fonts for only selected parts, the fonts are changed for the whole document.

which version of riched20.dll do you have?
at any rate the old editor2 (2.0) should have the same problems (?)

I don't know if we SHOULD be able to selectively change the font type, so tell me if version 5.30.23.1200 is OK for Win NT4.

BTW, where do we get the reference data? (or better still, an automated check whether our dll versions are outdated)

the question was for pila who experiences problems
(faq #24 is relevant)

versions from 5.3 and above work nicely

I do not know how to check this dll's version. Same problems are in v2 and v2,5.

But, I have made a mistake while reporting this bug. If I select proportional font, I get breaks at the same place as if non-proportional font is used, but e2 uses smaller proportional font ahan at other places.

Go find the the dll using Windows own search or 2x/x2 search utility. Right click on the dll and select properties. You will see the version on one of the tabs.

Hi Nikos
You can't reproduce it, because you are from UK and Editor2 doesn't have any problem with English texts.
I use Win-1250 character set. Some characters change font to fixed, some characters change font to proportional and some characters don't change font. It looks weird.

you mean you have text files with mixed code page characters?

I have all my texts written in Win1250 code page. Editor2 displays correct characters, but uses incorrect font. The font which is selected in options dialog is used only for English characters. Special national characters have different font.

The font also depends on keyboard. If I write English text and have English keyboard, then it's ok. If I press alt+shift to change keyboard and then write the same English text again, it changes font.

have you tried changing the script from the font selection dialog?

The script can't be changed. I can select the script in the font dialog, but it does nothing. Editor2 ignores my settings and uses some default script.
