tabs - format of info

Greetings - I am just now evaluating the x2 trial - and wondering - is there any way to change the format of the text in the tabs for the file view pane? A typical caption would be "C:\My Stuff\My Folder". Granted the size of the tabs might be greater, but shouldn't that be up to the user whether or not to have the strongly abbreviated version that exists?

the full path is visible as a tooltip when you hold the mouse pointer over a tab. This behaviour cannot be changed
