Hmmmm, so nikos eats Lithuanian cheese - did I need to know that? Probably not. Maybe its an allusion to the Snoras Bank. The owners of which ripped off millions from their depositors. You can guess where they're holed up - in England, avoiding extradition to Vilnius. Never let it be said that the Brits banged up a bent banker, it might set a precedent.
If anyone thinks Ultimate is a rip off, then they should exercise their right not to buy it. I did, not because i thought it was a rip off, but simply because for me it isn't worth the extra twenty bucks.
Kilmatead - dunno what brand of Aussie Rules you get in Ireland, but down under its regarded as a game for wusses. No rules you say - holding the man, holding the ball, dropping the ball, throwing the ball, push in the back, over the shoulder, kick out on the full, kick didn't go 10 metres, points for near misses, too many players in the circle - the list goes on and on, more rules than you can poke a stick at.
Real Aussie working class blokes and sheilas play Rugby League, and the toffs and their tarts play Union. Its the Mexicans, Croweaters and Sandgropers who play Aussie Wuss Rules. Immigranites play that round ball game that ain't cricket.

Not impossible that I was thinking (in another thread?) of "International Rules" instead... one of 'em made the girls cry.RightPaddock wrote:Mexicans, Croweaters and Sandgropers who play Aussie Wuss Rules.
And either it's me, or it's a sad state of affairs when even the Urban Dictionary can't agree whether Croweater is a derogatory or non-derogatory term! Buggery do.
Re: blog: is ultimate edition a con job?
i didn't know that either but apparently you are correct -- it says so on the tinRightPaddock wrote:Hmmmm, so nikos eats Lithuanian cheese - did I need to know that?
have you been shafted by this brand of cheese before?
Re: blog: is ultimate edition a con job?
Judging by the look of the viking-like character holding the "cheese", how do you know you're not buying Lemons or Pears from 1924? The "cheese" could resemble either. Shopping must be an interesting adventure on the odd chance she lets you out of the house by yourself.
I always enjoyed the canned-goods isles myself, as they always had pictures on the tins (at least the "premium brands" did).

Is the new Professional update a matter of days?nikos wrote:.... If you are running both ultimate and professional editions on the same PC you may cripple the fast search available in the former. This is a glitch in xplorer² that will be fixed in the short-coming version

Well that probably shows you personally didn't effect said cheese's purchase.nikos wrote:i didn't know that either but apparently you are correct -- it says so on the tinRightPaddock wrote:Hmmmm, so nikos eats Lithuanian cheese - did I need to know that?
No never seen the cheese, I guessed it was Lithuanian from its name. Dziugas was Lit Crusader prince (I think), maybe a mate of Barbarossa and Richard Angevin.nikos wrote:have you been shafted by this brand of cheese before?
A Lit pal was ripped off by the owners of Snoras bank. He was partially compensated by a taxpayer funded belly up bank bailout Ψ²
Many regard anything that's priced beyond what they're willing to pay for it as a 'rip off'.
I won't pay $1500 a kilo for Italian Horse cheese, it doesn't come in a tin or even have a label - what a rip off
On the isles hereabouts the picture on the tin doesn't necessarily bear any relationship to what's in the tinKilmatead wrote:I always enjoyed the canned-goods isles myself, as they always had pictures on the tins (at least the "premium brands" did).

Re: blog: is ultimate edition a con job?
I love "Everything" simply because I reasonably named my files and therefore, "Everything" cannot be beat. That does not mean I won't rely on anything else. For finding files where I remember the content but not the name or for files that I fail in finding my name, I rely on locate32, or FileLocator Pro, XYplorer, or xplorer2. What drives me nut if when some people are like:
Now if you always download stuff from the internet like pictures and whatnot, a lot of times these files don't have any names that make sense. But you ended up just dumping them into some folders (remember to name those folders with some sense). Or if you download important documents that have a bunch of numbers or other identification code in them and you don't want to mess with the names. Or many many other scenarios. THEN that's where tools that search content comes into play. They don't search as fast as "Everything" for obvious reasons, but they are MEANT for content searching.
As you can see, different tools for different purposes. What does not work for you does not always necessary means it's a pile of dog goo. But it's the internet and you see it all the time when someone is talking about a new software and some comment would come in a say "Well, I use this *insertname* and it's loads better" without trying the software.
And what does all this have with the ultimate edition being a con job? I don't know. I just merely wanted to write a length post and practicing my emotional expression by using nikos
The problem is, each tool has their own purposes. And it's also a good idea to name your file with some sense. Are you going to name your picture that you went to Hawaii "StarWarsPorn" just becuase you want to? If you complain that "Everything" is not working for you just because you don't like to properly name your file or even ORGANIZE them ("Everything" can find folder names), then it's your own god darn fault that "Everything" can't help. And I seen these people. They don't name their files with any sense and then complain to me that "Everything" sucks because it's can find their files. How the dognabbit would "Everything" know (and me too) that you for whatever reason decides to name your photo of your garden "god.jpg" and put it into a folder named "New folders"."Everything" is useless. I don't understand why anyone would want to use it since it searches for name.
Why should we properly name our files? That's why Everything is such a stupid tool.

as a good excuse. Well, to be exact, I acould say that I find the Ultimate edition not to be a very good deal. I have to pay to "search faster" and for portability?! BLASPHEMY. Everything, Locate32, xplorer2 pro and *insertname* are loads better.aren't you in the "don't understand the point of searching for anything but name" camp too?
I hope you saw the light already
