Hello. This issue I'm dealing with in x2 isn't new, it has been this way for years, and it's not a major annoyance, but something x2 would be better off without.
I'm printing a lot of documents (generally 2-10 MB image files) and it seems that whenever I start a print job, x2 caches the print data and it won't release it unless x2 is closed.
To users which have 12-16 GB of RAM, x2 hoarding up to 3 GB of RAM due to print jobs may not mean much, but to some it could make a difference, especially if they have no idea what their RAM is wasted on.
It would be great if x2 could purge the print data soon after the documents are printed, or if it would not store it at all.

Re: xplorer² caching printed documents
given that xplorer2 does not offer any print command i'm not sure i understand what you're talking about
Re: xplorer² caching printed documents
The "Print" command is from the Windows contextual menu, issue is that when the print job starts, x2 caches the print data and it can be clearly viewed by observing the x2 memory usage.
Re: xplorer² caching printed documents
the culprit isn't xplorer2 but whatever program is doing the printing of your pics. Of course xplorer2 appears to get the blame because all these things are DLLs running into xplorer2 process. Have you tried the same command in windows explorer?
Re: xplorer² caching printed documents
Yes, I have and it doesn't seem to store the print data in the RAM space.nikos wrote:Have you tried the same command in windows explorer?
