Request to see no more popup messages

Post by vlad »

Hi fellow xplorers,

First post. I have been falling in love with this program. It's got pretty much everything that I need however many many many times I keep getting those annoying popup error messages such as '... failed miserably', etc. I don't care for them and I would rather not keep clicking the close button every minute. Any option that I don't see to disable them entirely? Perhaps in an ini file or the registry.

Also, I have yet to purchase a license but debating whether or not to get the lifetime upgrades. Is it still in development and or worth the extra $40?

Thanks guys!

if you enable the statusbar then you won't get the messageboxes, just a line on the statusbar
xplorer2 is actively developed for the foreseeable future

It seems to get rid of most but not all pop ups. Oh well. Maybe it's because I hide the status bar from view.

So for $30 am I stuck with the current version with no updates or do I get free updates until like the next big release?

Also, any possible way to bind a mouse button to go UP a directory. The side mouse buttons go back and forward by default but I would like the 'back' button to go to the parent directory. Only way around this is to bind that key to 'backspace' via autohotkey but would rather not do that.

the upgrade policy is here http://zabkat.com/x2up.htm

as for mouse buttons, these should work as in your windows explorer

Will there be an option to bind mouse keys in a later version?

And just so I'm 100%, it is $30 for the pro and an EXTRA $40 for the lifetime right? Or is it $40 total for the pro & lifetime?

I looked in the past about binding mouse buttons to command accelerators but didn't find a way to do it :(
if you want lifetime cover the total price would be 70 (30+40)

Who's lifetime are we referring to - yours or ours?

If it is yours, then we are all being treated the same. If it is ours, then the older among us should get a discount!

most probably much sooner than either, one day MS are going to upgrade windows beyond recognition and xplorer2 will stop working. Every time there is a major windows update I can hear hell's bells ringing... but so far so good :)
