Address a drive. Assume external drive is F: then addressing a drive means typing dir F:\ in command window or in search bar of X2 or anywhere else one can enter a drive path.
EXT in my example is a share name. Right Click on a drive (or a folder) click on Properties from the context menu. Click on the Sharing tab. Enter a Share Name for the drive or folder. Now you can access the drive or folder using that name.

Re: Drivebar drive letters inadequate
Thanks drac
Now I get it !
I am not on a network -- and the "Share" button in WinExplorer > any drive > Properties > Sharing (tab) ... is disabled (which I would expect)
With plans for a NAS drive your tip has opened another door of useful tools for us
Thank you again
