my character codepage (greek) is 1253. I think most western europe and USA use 1252? If you are in the UK, Germany, France or USA and you can tell me your codepage I'd use it for some warning messages. If you don't know what a codepage is never mind

I was trying to find the actual codepages on your computers, not the theoretical... but anyway it looks like the answer i'm looking for is
IBM-437, IBM-850, IBM-1252

How do you find out what code page your are using?

one way is to open a DOS console and type the command chcp

I'm using 437... Windows 8.1 x64... US...

Windows XP, UK, chcp=850

Win7 Ult; US keyboard; chcp 850
