Status/Readiness of xplorer2 for Windows 10

Post by out4adventure »

I have been a longtime user of xplorer2. I am curious about the readiness of xplorer2 to support the upcoming release of Windows 10.

Will a new release be coming out, or will the current version support Windows 10? If a new release is coming out, what are the timelines - upgrade paths?

Thanks
Karl

upgraded to windows 10 this morning. Xplorer2 pro 64 flashes open then crashes. tried reinstalling, didn't work. I will uninstall then reinstall to see if that works.

Program Crashes immediately upon opening. can't get to the help menu. Tried looking for the file x2minidump_xxx_version.mdmp in the %TEMP% folder, but there was no such file or any other created at time of crash. I uninstalled the 64 bit version and tried the 32 bit version and that work.

use your reliability monitor (however it is called in windows 10) and see if you can find the crash information from that. For more information see

the faulting module is MSVCR110.dll which is not from xplorer2, therefore it's one of your shell extensions to blame. If you can find a crash dump file then I may be able to tell you which one it is
