move/copy files to last used folder

Say I am working in folder A and I just manually copied/moved a file to folder B, then I select another file in folder A that I want to move again to B.
Is there a shortcut or a toolbar button that can do that? Repeat the last command, or repeat the last copy/move command?

After this I move to folder C and I still want to move a file to folder B, can I keep use the above mentioned command?

I know the copy/move to button exists for this, the problem is that it defaults to "here", I find that this doesn't make sense, why would I want to move something in the same folder. Why does this dialogue not remember the last action?

Thank you

You must be using single pane mode. Seems like dual pane mode would make what you want much easier.

to "repeat" the last robust copy press ALT+F5 keys together
for best results better enable the registry option GIOPT_SAVEF5DIRS (see registry.txt)
the repetition does not include any filter defined in the dialog. If you need to do the filter you must show the dialog

if you have dual panes, Ctrl+F5 will send files to the inactive pane without showing the dialog (and sans filter)

I am not interested in using dual pane, but thanks for the suggestion.

I have tried alt+f5, it brings up the copy dialog but it does not have the latest used folder.

And why anyway the default setting in the copy dialog is "here", what's the reason? It seems mostly useless. :?

"here" means in whatever folder you specify. As you don't have a dual pane which is the natural target, the only option is "here"
ALT+F5 should work but you should first use the dialog once to specify a target folder then ALT+F5 will reuse that folder (without the dialog)

ok I see where the confusion generated. atl+f5 works when I use previously 'here', but that requires me to browse through the tree.

If I use the Tab option than alt+f5 doesn't work. Is there a way to change this behavior, so that when I open the copy dialog is by default set on the previous tab option, or to trigger with alt+f5 the copy to the last tab chosen?

Sorry I know this sounds picky but I can imagine other people would like to do something similar.

Thank you

I was about to ask this exact same question. What I was hoping was there was a "Repeat Copy/Move to" command under the Edit menu that could be executed with a keyboard command and button that would copy/move selected files to the last used destination without showing a dialog.

Alt+F5 (* and Alt+F6), that's one of them undocumented/documented features :) - another one for the arsenal...

use TOOLS >ADVANCED OPTIONS menu and then enable the option "save all copy target folders in F5..."
then your ALT+F5 will remember everything

perfect that's the solution I wanted.
