Is there a way to adjust the keystroke speed settings required for file name search?
example:
In a folder with a 2500 files
and with the focus in the active pane
I can start typing a filename, and the focus will jump to the appropriate letter.
I can then type the second character of the filename and the focus will jump to the firs file matching both the first & second characters.
ditto for subsequent keystrokes. Eventually i could jump to the first file matching the first 5 characters.
EXCEPT ... I can't type that quickly, and after a (very) short delay between keystrokes xplorer2 assumes I am trying to search for a new/different file
eg
t...........jumps to filename starting T
ta.........jumps to filename starting TA
tay........jumps to filename starting TAY
tayl.......jumps to filename starting L

Re: Keystroke speed
this isn't adjustable but you can use the quickfilter box to type as slow as you like
Re: Keystroke speed
Thanks for your reply;
it prompted my to investigate QuickFilter features rather than keystroke-speeds.
I have been able to achieve part of what I wanted by changing
Advances settings > incremental search auto-filter == 2
now my slow typing does not cause the focus to jump to some other 'random' filename
