Went on a trip from San Francisco to Europe, took a ream of photos on my smartphone, returned home, and copied the photos to the computer using something (forget what at the moment). This software, trying to be helpful in some abstract sense, changed all of the file "modified" times from the correct date and time the photo was taken to the date and time in San Francisco when the photo was taken in Europe. So now my daytime morning pictures of, say, Strasbourg were showing as taken in the middle of the night the day before.

Opened Xplorer2. Selected all these photo files. Picked "Actionss->Change dates" "modified" "set equal to" "Date taken" and hit "OK". Problem fixed in no time at all.
